A few great things happened to me today. I finished my first Sudoku puzzle. Ever. It took me 19:52 (which I think is a long time but felt like a butterfly kiss of an eyelash flutter).
I got a Hyacinth at the Union Square Farmers Market (and said silently to myself “they called me the Hyacinth Girl”).
Little by little the bird feathers its nest, and object by heart burnished object we surround ourselves with lovely necessities of memory and function. It is these things that make a silly Apartment a Home or a silly Wednesday an Occasion.
Whether my nest is an old farmhouse, a sixth floor tenement walk up, or a brownstone basement... whether I share it with family, vagabonds, women of heart and mind, or a little brown cat and a sweet ginger banjo, my principal joy is filling it with light and laughter (and corralling).

…sudoku(J)=s/z/tzo(ma)-d/toca(Nauatl/root language of japanese)=touching on sewing, i.e.,
almost sewing with letters/words. how is old
possum(Lat)=i can, he was a quilter=cuicuiltic(N)=
of various colors=c/guilty, cut quite a few neckties
from older poets, but if that’s what it took, i let him
out on parole.
markets=me(r)cados=me(r)cad/t/l=mecate/
mecatl(N)=string,=metl(N)=rope/pulque plant=
Metis(myth)=first goddess of wisdom, mother of
athena=atentli(N)=waterlips.
I’ll take a penny for a Pound if it keeps ole J. Al out of debtors prison, and wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled in celebration of spring instead… still unsure of the creative power of the numbers game, but if I think of it as peaceweaving, It just feels right.
Thank you for this comment, which really made an already happy Thursday levitate!
